ETS is a nonprofit organization that advances worldwide quality and equity in education by creating assessments based on rigorous research. They develop, administer and score more than 50 million tests annually in more than 180 countries, at more than 9,000 locations worldwide.

In addition, ETS’ 3,200 employees help individuals, educators and government agencies around the world find new ways to advance learning through customized, innovative assessment solutions. They conduct educational research, analysis and policy studies, and develop a variety of customized services and products for teacher certification, English language learning and elementary, secondary and postsecondary education.

The “Connect Team” at ETS, with membership from the Knowledge Services department and the IT department, is responsible for connecting people with the resources they need to do their work, both internal and external. They implement the organizational strategy of leveraging cutting edge technology to help ETS staff “listen, learn and lead.”

A powerful ILS with traditional library management capabilities and KM functionality built right in is a key component of their information management strategy. With SydneyEnterprise, the ETS Knowledge Services staff enables the necessary connectivity, and additionally, achieves other important operational goals, including independence and integration. Leveraging tools that allow library staff to administer and configure their own platforms is critical, as is the ability to integrate library databases and systems with existing information resources, including SharePoint.

ETS’ commitment to connecting people with information doesn’t only apply to ETS staff: offering public access to their unique content is extremely important. Their test collection and the ETS researcher database are available to the public via the internet. Part of their mission is to make the test collection broadly available, and Lucidea’s unified ILS and KM technology gives them the major conduit through which to do that.

ETS believes in the power of SydneyEnterprise to support and share their research, helping them lead in the development of new and innovative educational products and services around the world.

We invite you to learn more about the many ways they leverage SydneyEnterprise. You can read the case study here.
